Hiding information in a job interview

שו”תCategory: HalachaHiding information in a job interview
asked 6 years ago

I was recently hired and fired within a few weeks.
I intend to start looking for a job again and I’m afraid that if I mention the quick layoffs in a job interview, the employer won’t be interested in hiring me.
The question is, am I allowed to hide this, and especially – if I ask what I have done since ending my previous job, to say that I looked and did not find a suitable place, and not to say that I also worked and was fired at the same time.
I will note that, as far as I understand, and according to the feedback I received from those who worked with me, the dismissal was not due to particularly poor conduct on my part, but rather to particularly problematic circumstances that I was unable to deal with, so it does indeed show a certain weakness on my part, but not as bad as it might seem.

Hello Eric. I think we talked about this verbally. In my opinion, you don’t have to tell this, certainly if you don’t think the dismissal was due to an unusual failure at work.
