Hits and draws blood, but for self-defense
He who strikes his father and mother shall be put to death.
Especially when it draws blood
If his father or mother hits him and in self-defense he gets up and hits them, of course, while there are mutual blows and attempts at defense, it is difficult to judge every slap and every punch, but there are those who have been there and those who are defending themselves.
The son defends himself and of course he hits and even draws blood.
Is it necessary to die?
Or rather, is it good, decent, worthy, desirable, and honest?
This is a small child, after all, it is generally forbidden to hit him. In the case of a small child, parents are generally allowed to hit him, and as long as they do not overdo it, he is not allowed to defend himself. If he was not raped, then he probably deserves death. Although in our day and age, when the law prohibits and it is generally accepted that it is wrong to do so, it is likely that now there is no permission to hit and in any case the child can defend himself.
According to the Rabbi
The law in a roundabout way or at least the rabbinic law abolished a Halacha from the Torah
This is a great innovation
There is no repeal here, but rather a change in circumstances that dictates a different implementation. There are many examples of this, and this fundamental innovation is not that great.
