I was not shocked by the “desecration of Shabbat”!!!
I was shocked by the murder!!!
Should I have been shocked by both or only by one of them? If only by one, which one is better? And is there a connection to the Gemara in Yoma 23:1:
“There was an incident involving two priests who were both Swein, Ritzin, and Ulin. One of them advanced four cubits into his companion’s heart. He took a knife and stabbed him in the heart. Rabbi Zadok stood on the steps of the hall and said, “Our brothers, the House of Israel, listen, for he says (Deuteronomy 21:1“If a hole is found in the ground, your elders and your judges will come out and say, ‘Who is responsible for bringing a decapitated cart to the city or to the villages?'” All the people cried out in pain. The father of a baby came and found him writhing in pain. He said, “He is your apostate, and yet my son writhes in pain, and the knife has not been defiled.” This teaches you that it is more difficult for them to purify vessels than to shed blood.”
???
Kind regards, Benjamin
