Immersion in a Mikveh
Hello,
I am a religious person and my wife is secular, she herself does not observe anything but is willing to go to the mikveh for me. My question is does her baptism have religious significance for me? Is it considered that she fulfilled the mitzvah of baptism even though she does not believe that she is commanded to immerse? In the sense that mitzvahs require intention. Does she have to do everything in full, including the blessing, or just immerse and that’s it? (Again, because she does not intend the blessing). I would like to point out that she is secular in an informed way (I do not think that she can be judged as a baby who was captured).
First, an educated secularist is a captive baby par excellence. Anyone who thinks there is no real Judaism is a captive baby.
But for our purposes, her blessings are of course worth nothing. But the blessing and the intention do not prevent a foreigner from immersing. If she immerses, she is pure.
