Hello Rabbi.

This topic has been a closed issue for me for a long time, and I would like to finally understand and know how to proceed – is watching movies directly on the Internet prohibited? And is there a difference between old movies (say, the 1970s and earlier) and new movies? And are there any sites from which it is prohibited and others that are not prohibited? Downloading or direct viewing? Etc. I would appreciate your answer.

Thank you in advance, Rabbi.

Halacha is not relevant here. In property law, the law determines. A lawyer asked.

And what about the robbery thing?

מיכי Staff replied 2 years ago

I wrote that theft is determined by law.

If there is a conflict, let's say in family law, where the law requires a certain person to pay an unknown person 100,000 NIS, and according to Halacha, this is complete theft (meaning it is forbidden to charge him at all).

Is what you said about theft being determined according to the law also stated? That is, will the halakhic theft (what was stolen from so-and-so to pay not according to the halakhic law) be rejected because the law determined...?

It is impossible to discuss without an example.
