Invalid witness

שו”תInvalid witness
asked 6 years ago

A friend is getting married and wants to honor a friend for their testimony. This friend eats kosher and observes Shabbat, but he knows that in circumstances abroad and it is difficult for him, he is going to have to take a shower and eat sushi at a restaurant there (he makes sure to only eat kosher David rice, but he knows that this is an education and there could be problems).
1) Can a marriage be annulled for something like this?
2) If not, is it appropriate to honor this friend forever in the first place?

Chinese. What is “David rice”? What does “it’s education and there can be problems” mean? What’s in the sushi he eats? As a general rule, a witness disqualified from a wicked trial is a witness who commits a crime that has been punished (or is suspected of adultery, for which the disqualified person was neither tried nor testified). Today, there are jurors who doubt the disqualification of a secular person as wicked, because it is not clear whether such a person is considered wicked today, but most of them are strict about the testimony of a child. Especially if it is not a secular person but a rabbi (and one must distinguish whether this is because of his nature or because he does not believe, and this is not the place for that). It is appropriate to initially seek a completely kosher witness. Regardless of the question of refreshments. This is not about refreshments but rather a law that in certain cases can delay the Kiddushin. If you want to honor someone, invite them to your home and serve them a good cake.
