Is there a Talmud Torah mitzvah about clarifying the Talmud Torah mitzvah?
I saw your wonderful article on the Talmud commandment of gratitude in the haftza.
And I was satisfied: Should one recite the blessings of the Torah before reading your article that defines the commandment of studying Talmud Torah in a haftza, etc.?… What is the limit on this?… Is there even a clear limit?…
What do you think?
I really don’t know a clear boundary. When asked about halachic interpretation, why do we sometimes end up with intellectual interpretations? It’s a pretty big gray area, but there are still probably two distinct sides on either side of it.
If I understood correctly, you're saying that it's actually almost impossible to pin down this.
At least I can't determine.
Studying Torah without reciting a blessing beforehand does not hinder it. It does not even diminish the mitzvah.
Blessings, the Sages established them to bring to mind who is commanding us and what His will is.. and therefore they established a blessing for everything.
As I wrote in the title, the content of the question is whether there is a mitzvah at all (and not just whether there is room for a blessing, which is a truly secondary question).
