Is there theft in digital things?

A) There are books and files that were illegally copied/photographed, is it permissible to use them (I am not the one who stole them)
B) And even if I’m the one who breaks in myself, is it permissible? After all, I’m not stealing anything real.

In principle, there is theft in this, even though it is not a real thing. See my article on plagiarism and intellectual property. Although when they are already hacked and given to everyone, there is room for leniency like a seagull.

Hello Rabbi, is this a case of a sea otter or "like you, a sheep"? Also, should we be lenient in films as well?

The custom is to make it easy.

That's why I only wrote that there is room for leniency, not that it is allowed, because it is possible to claim that thieves like you have captured it. But there is a difference between a road in the field and a film or book copied on the Internet. In the field, there is a possibility to close the loophole, not here.
