Judge of the whole land

שו”תCategory: moralJudge of the whole land

How does the Rabbi understand Abraham’s question, “Shall the judge of all the earth not do justice?” Is morality binding without the Kabbalah? And if not, if morality is something that is binding only following the will of God, and without it, the moral obligation has no meaning, how can one “question” God about His lack of submission to morality?

What’s the problem? Even if morality is binding only by the power of God, Abraham questions Him about the inconsistency.

Abraham does not know that he is talking to God.
He does understand that he is talking to someone who has the power and who has come to do justice. So he tries to manipulate by flattery combined with determining what is the right thing to do.

What do you mean, I don't know he's talking to the ’?

And here are three people standing over him, one of whom was God and he did not know it throughout the entire event.
The Torah tells us that it was God and his inner speech, but Abraham did not know.

So could it be that God was incarnated in Jesus??

If you find snakes that tempt humans and talking donkeys, then anything is possible.
