Kosher food in the B&B

שו”תCategory: HalachaKosher food in the B&B
asked 7 years ago

Hello Rabbi Michi.. My partner and I are interested in staying on Friday and Saturday in a B&B that does not have a kosher certificate, but the business owner states that he is strict with those who are strict with Halacha and simply because of financial problems he cannot afford a kosher supervisor.
It should be noted that: (I would be happy to be corrected if I am wrong)
1. My partner and I are vegans, his kitchen is dairy and fur and there is no meat in the kitchen at all.
2. Regarding dipped vessels – since they are for commercial use, there is no need for dipping, and there is no halachic problem with eating from them.
3. Breakfast (which is the only meal we eat there) on Shabbat consists of: bread, a hummus omelet, vegetables, and spreads.
It should be noted that there will be a plate and a bowl, and even a Sabbath goy.
Could any halakhic problem arise here?
Thank you in advance.

A lot of light. Specifically regarding immersion, it is customary to be lenient, but I do not know of a good reason for this. These are not tools intended for merchandise. See here: https://www.toraland.org.il/%D7%9E%D7%90%D7%9E%D7%A8%D7%99%D7%9D/%D7%9B%D7%A9%D7%A8%D7%95%D7%AA-%D7%94%D7%9E%D7%96%D7%95%D7%9F/%D7%9B%D7%A9%D 7%A8%D7%95%D7%AA-%D7%9B%D7%9C%D7%9C%D7%99/%D7%98%D7%91%D7%99%D7%9C%D7%A A-%D7%9B%D7%9C%D7%99%D7%9D-%D7%91%D7%91%D7%AA%D7%99-%D7%A2%D7%A1%D7%A7/ The question is whether the vegetables are enriched and the other mitzvot that depend on the country. Is the hummus omelet cooked before Shabbat? In what utensils? In general, it is difficult to trust a person whose livelihood is this (he is infected). It is true that there are those who trust an A.A. Ne’eman in the prohibitions, but this is not a mistake. If these are the only things you need, I think you can get by without needing it. With disposables and cooked food (a hummus omelette is a must) that you bring with you.

If he himself is religious, there is more reason to trust him, of course.
