Lighting a beacon in AI

Maybe you heard, Ofra Haza is going to light a beacon in AI. Besides the fact that it’s cool, do you think it’s ethical? Like if she were dead and all, but maybe if she were alive she would refuse, because of her opposition to the government or just other things. Do you agree that there are problems here?

I haven’t heard. I don’t think there’s a problem. Everyone knows that this isn’t Ofra Haza, so she wasn’t wronged. Maybe we can talk about rights to use her image, but I don’t see a moral problem here.

In general, what is your opinion regarding immoral behavior towards the dead?

מיכי Staff replied 6 months ago

I think there are moral guidelines regarding the dead as well. Like I wouldn't hurt a living person who is sleeping and wouldn't hear about it.

מיכי Staff replied 6 months ago

You mean immoral, of course.

יאיר replied 6 months ago

And why is there really a problem with harming a living person who is asleep and won't hear about it?

מיכי Staff replied 6 months ago

Because he wouldn't want that to happen.

יהונתן מ replied 6 months ago

If there are moral guidelines towards the dead, they must allow life after death, right?

מיכי Staff replied 6 months ago

I don't think so.
