Lighting a fire on a holiday
The Torah does not prohibit lighting a fire on holidays, only not working.
Why don’t I light a fire as usual (and not fire a fire), drive my car, or turn the light on and off as I please?
When it is clear that there is no prohibition, why comply with the rabbinic prohibition?
You make a lot of assumptions and then ask a general question that has nothing to do with them.
You assume there is no problem with driving a car. You assume that lighting a fire for non-essential purposes is only forbidden by rabbis.
To the question of why one should obey the laws of the rabbis, the answer according to Maimonides is from the verse “Do not deviate.” You can see it here on the website in column 443.
In conclusion, I will make one recommendation to you. In order to argue and certainly to formulate a position, you need to study and be knowledgeable about the subject in question.
