Moshav Litzim

I saw (sort of) what you wrote about watching movies, etc., about something that is not intended, etc.
What about the act of lyceum? Let’s say that the Talmud Torah commandment is truly like what the Hazel Stone wrote in the Laws of Kings, that as long as I am engaged in something, I am exempt. And even if I saw someone claiming that while someone is enjoying a story, etc., then they are not violating the Torah’s nullification and brought evidence from the Hazel Stone mentioned above (I did not understand their reasoning at all, because for the Rambam, this is also a lyceum’s nullification), it does not seem to be possible to say that it can violate the lyceum’s nullification. In short, it seems to say that whatever they permitted (and I also saw a little of what you wrote about nullification of the Torah, which was nullification due to the quality of employment during the time), then watching a movie is certainly not something that elevates a person or perfects him. And the common claim that there is a moral message in a movie is a demagogic claim that has almost nothing to it, because the Sages and the Rambam himself, who want to bring evidence from it, have included in the prohibition of reading some of the books (such as the book of Ben Sira) that also contain moral messages. (I hope you don’t bring evidence that the Sages sometimes quote stories from this book in the Gemara)

Watching movies is first and foremost about enjoyment. It’s okay to enjoy yourself. In quite a few cases, there are also insights and messages to learn from them.

Moshav Litzim is also a pleasure, but what can we do? There are permitted pleasures and there are prohibited pleasures. If you have one, please explain how this does not fall within the definition of ML. Thank you.

I would appreciate your kind consideration.

I don't know of a prohibition on a mocking session. In my understanding, it's a recommendation. And if there are important lessons there or even just reasonable enjoyment, it's not a mocking session.
