“It can be seen in the Maimonides’ method that there is no reality of reward and punishment, but rather that there is reward and non-reward. In other words, the righteous person receives a certain reward, while the unbeliever will ultimately disappear completely, losing all real continuity.
The apparent puzzlement is that man was created in the ‘image of God,’ and therefore if man disappears from reality, a part of God disappears from reality, in contradiction.
Therefore, it seems to me that there is a different understanding of the concept of ‘image of God.’ This is how I defined it: ‘Image of God’ is not a divine part that is integrally inherent in man, but rather a possibility of ‘receiving’ the divine part in question.
Therefore, a person who has not accepted the yoke of the Kingdom of Heaven will not lose a part of God that was never created.
“One can see a certain basis for this in the verse about the image of God, and I will not dwell on it.”

Thanks in advance, all the best

First, I don’t know where this conclusion comes from in Rambam. He talks about reward and punishment, not just reward. Second, a person can disappear from reality and his divine part will remain in it in one form or another, like the persistence of the soul (reincarnations?). And third, even if there is no need for it, the proposal he makes is possible.

Why assume that the image of God is a "part" of God? Usually the word "photographer" is used to indicate an image (see Chapter 1), just as if I "photograph" a picture and then destroy it, nothing of what I photographed is destroyed.
