Regarding veganism, I read what the rabbi wrote in the past and wondered if, if the animals are raised under proper conditions and are not abused (beyond the actual slaughter), does the rabbi think it is morally okay to eat meat in such a situation?

It seems to me that there is virtue in not eating even in such a situation, but it is certainly not an elementary and obligatory requirement like in our situation today. Whoever wants to be virtuous – should not eat.
