Hello,
What’s the point of Rosh Chodesh? Why should I note, with the recitation of Hallel, etc., the fact that the moon is beginning another revolution around the Earth?
And as a bonus – what’s the point of the moon blessing?
Of course this is the halakha, my question relates to its logic today.

I didn’t understand the focus on today. What do you think it would have tasted like then in the past? Just as they determined other holidays, they also determined the Rah. Do you understand Sukkot or Shavuot? Reasons were given for this, but the exact timing is determined by the Torah. To the same extent, I assume that the purpose of the Rah is to remember that the conduct of the world (which the moon’s rotation symbolizes) is by the power of God, the Holy One, and in His creation. That is why the Rah date was also determined with the new moon. The same is true regarding the blessing of the moon as a servant of God, the Holy One.
