Nietzsche

asked 5 years ago

Hello Rabbi. I wanted to ask what the Rabbi thinks about Nietzsche in general and whether his teachings are necessarily incompatible with Judaism?
Thank you very much.

I have no opinion. I don’t know enough, and the question is meaningless. There are many details in his teachings, and I don’t see what the connection is between them and “Judaism” (what is that anyway?) If you have a concrete question, please be respectful and write it here and then we can discuss it.

If we are talking about philosophers, why is the repeated attempt (by Rabbi Slobodzik, Herman Cohen, and others) to convert Rabbi Kant, as was the case with Aristotle, unsuccessful?

Successful, successful. Wait a few hundred years like with Maimonides, and today it is much less.

You can expand the Rebbe's honor.
