No one has control over the spirit.
Hello Rabbi
I wanted to say that I was surprised that in the second book of the trilogy “No Man Has Dominion Over the Spirit,” in the chapters on providence and miracles, you presented different evidence for your theory than in the first, but I saw that you did not present really prominent and well-known sources on the subject that I believe are close to your theory about God’s guidance in the world through the laws of nature:
1. The G-d in the Book of Fornication 44: which addresses the question of why God does not prevent the result of a transgression – for example, a man and a woman who committed adultery, why is a bastard born from this and God does not prevent it? And they respond that “the world behaves as it has always done, and fools who have corrupted it will be judged in the future.”
2. The Book of Education on the commandment of placing a railing – it speaks there of the fact that God created laws in nature that He acts according to, and only in special and rare cases does He violate them and perform a miracle and make a miracle there………
I wanted to ask because I was a little surprised that you didn’t bring up these sources in the discussion thread there.
Wishing you a good and blessed week.
These sources should be discussed because there is no general statement there beyond the fact that transgressions are in the hands of man. Moreover, the assumption there is that God is indeed involved and only in some cases does He have a reason not to intervene.
In general, I didn’t really collect sources.
I referred to an article by Rabbi Shmuel Ariel, who collected sources from the Sages.
