No plug
Hello Rabbi. I wanted to ask what the reasoning behind the claim of “no plog.” After all, if there is a reason and justification for doing or refraining from an action, then that is the right thing to do, and what is the point of introducing additional, unrelated cases? For example, the prohibition of doing an action that requires looking at the light of a tall Shabbat candle, where there is no fear of lighting the candle. thanks
La plug is only stated in the prohibitions of the rabbis. The Torah is based on the essence and there really is no la plug. It all depends on the case. But in the rabbis, in either case, there is no essential reason for the prohibition, but rather it is a decree or regulation, and therefore the consideration of simplicity outweighs the concerns or the legality of the halakhah (as in the case of the candle).
