On the books of Ecclesiastes and Proverbs

שו”תOn the books of Ecclesiastes and Proverbs
asked 1 year ago

Hello Rabbi. I wanted to ask whether it is possible to refute the morality and perspective embedded in the books of Ecclesiastes and Proverbs? For example, if they come to the conclusion that the inclination of the human heart is good from youth and not evil, then I have essentially refuted a verse from the Bible. It is difficult from the religious context to do this because we believe (I do at least) that the entire Bible is a prophecy from God and that every piece of information there is sacred and divinely wise.

Thank you and have a good day.

Strange question. A. How do you determine good or bad? Does it have to be completely good or completely bad? B. If the Torah is divine, then in practice you will not find anything to the contrary and therefore it will not be refuted.
