One Truth and Pluralism

Hi, a discussion recently erupted in my office after I told about a friend of mine who is very “locked in” to his path (studying in a yeshiva, etc., etc.).
My colleagues in the ministry took very seriously the claim that there is only one way to live – “the way of the Torah” (or any other way you choose) and that it is not within the authority of any person to determine that someone else is wrong in their own way. (Even if it is only in their own thoughts and perceptions, of course)
In their opinion, each person can only claim what is the right path for them, and the claim that there is one path for everyone is unacceptable – essentially the claim that a person cannot tell what is the right path for anyone other than themselves.
I objected and argued that in a similar way to how my friend from the yeshiva claims that he lives the right way and they are wrong, they too decided on a way that obligates everyone – the way that determines that each person can only determine for themselves, but this very determination is some truth that they believe obligates everyone.
Therefore, in my opinion, there is no difference between the two concepts.
I would love to hear your opinion, if I’m wrong help me understand why, and if I’m right, I would love help in better formulating the argument.
Thank you very much!

Obviously you are right and they are talking nonsense. The question is whether they will accept a person whose path is to be a hired killer or a convicted thief. There are values about which most people lose their pluralism. The only remaining debate is what the list of binding values is. In their opinion, it is only morality and in the opinion of others, also Halacha.
