I agree with every word. Buchler is a scoundrel. By the way, I criticized Buchler’s book with two of my own. The entire book consists of statements without any argument or alternative. He rejects the postmodern void, and I am in favor, but does not offer a reasoned alternative. He also applies his criticism to mathematics, which in essence should be void, and therefore this criticism is irrelevant to it. Alexandrowitz’s distinction that Keller is not concerned with mathematics but with mathematical tools for physics is wonderful and very striking. I remember devouring the entire book in the two days of my hospitalization in Soroka. Very cumbersome and not sharp. Every simple idea is presented in a complicated way. My feeling was that I very much identify with the motivations and criticism (not about mathematics) but see no alternative. I brought a completely parallel criticism there of Gadi Taub’s stooped rebellion. At the time, he also defined himself as a leftist and from reading his book it was clear to me that he was an unconscious rightist. The same goes for Steinitz from reading his philosophical materials.
