Ownership of a sent letter
Hello Rabbi,
Recently, an article was published regarding a letter from a girl from the Holocaust that was bought by Uncle Zilbershlag (a member of the Yad Vashem board) at the Tel Aviv flea market and then tried to sell it at an auction house. The girl’s relatives tried to prevent the sale.
Are the girl’s heirs considered the owners of this letter? Or is my uncle the legal owner?
Best regards,

There is probably no clear answer to these questions and it is also difficult to prove. The reality is that it is currently in the hands of Uncle Zilbershlag, who bought it from a seller at the Tel Aviv flea market. Beyond that, there is no further information.
So we don't know how to answer. The judge or jury should flag the seller and investigate how he got to him.
