Political question – what is the Third Path partnership?
Hello, I saw your treatise with Moshe Redman and wanted to ask you about the partners we chose to work with.
During the conversation, you beautifully presented the claims of extreme religiosity on both sides, you stood by them consistently, and presented the problem using the method of Moses.
If so, from my perspective as a listener, it would seem as if nothing was picked up on the other side.
This is not the first treatise I have heard from him and it seems to be a recurring pattern.
So my question is, what do you expect to achieve with such a partnership?
On the one hand, it seems that Moshe is presenting a demand that religious pragmatists separate themselves from the extremists, even though I personally agree with them on many things.
On the other hand, it seems that this is a one-sided demand, since Moshe sees very extremist people as partners (such as Arabs, Yair Golan, etc.)
From conversations I’ve had with friends on the left, this is a recurring phenomenon, a blatant inability of the camel to see its own hump.
In my opinion, my disagreement with the ultra-Orthodox is much greater than that with the secular, but at least when I talk to them, they understand the criticism of them and the problematic nature of their behavior that I present.
How do you think it is possible to deal with such a reality? Do you recognize leftists who are not like that? Is it possible to separate these types?
I apologize if I misinterpreted anything you said, that was my understanding from what I heard.
