How is it that a large part of the people, including wise and good people, see the removal of the judiciary (for example) as the beginning of the end of democracy, and another part, also wise and good people, see it as a necessary step to strengthen democracy?
I didn’t understand if you were asking how there could be disagreements or how they could be so polar and extreme.
People have different perceptions. That’s why there are disputes. It can also be extreme. What’s more, the discussion here is not about facts and therefore does not really pertain to wisdom. It is more about values, trust in the legal and political system, and so on.
