Powers of Sages
peace
I read some of the things you wrote about the difference between the formal authority and the substantive authority of the Sages. They cannot tell us what to think, only what to do, and therefore you think what you think. But they can still say that you are forbidden to convince others of your opinions, so what is the justification for the existence of this site? After all, you are inciting people here to thoughts that, according to the Sages, are heretical thoughts, and this is something that is forbidden to do!
Indeed, there is no reason to define such a prohibition conceptually (it is not an oxymoron). But the fact that it can be defined does not mean that I accept it.
I am not prohibited from examining my opinions and spreading them, even if someone thinks they are heretical. I have explained this more than once regarding “You shall not turn” (you can search here on the site).
All of this assumes that you are right that my thoughts here are considered heresy by the sages. I tend to disagree with this as well, even though the issue doesn’t really bother me.
