Question about the book “The Science of Freedom”
peace. I read your book The Science of Freedom with great interest. Very fascinating. I wanted to ask, is the mechanism for man’s free choice presented in the book (the parable of the traveler, etc.) based on the mechanism of free choice and the forces operating in the soul of man that Maimonides describes in his books?

1. I didn’t talk about a mechanism because there is no mechanism of choice. There is an image within which free choice occurs (the topographic outline/description).
2. I don’t know what Maimonides’ mechanism is. As mentioned, in my opinion there is none.
3. I don’t think there are different pictures. Whoever talks about free choice is talking about what I described. To my understanding, and as I also explained, there is nothing else. Hence, even if someone didn’t describe it that way, this is still the description of his doctrine. Otherwise, he is not talking about free choice.
