Question from a liberal
In a column on appointing judges, you wrote that individual methods can be used in times of stress, when it comes to an important value like equality.
I would love more examples:
On the subject of equality, when can we still rely on a one-size-fits-all approach when we are in a time of need?
What other values with a singular basis (beyond equality) would reject a law that was decided based on the majority?
In general, are there issues where individual opinions will not reject halakha even in times of stress (serious dispute)?
