Quote by Rabbi
I heard the rabbi quoted: “According to the simple and widespread understanding of the Rambam, I am indeed an Epicurus, but I understand the Rambam differently and thus I am not an Epicurus.”
Is the quote correct?
Additionally, I asked the rabbi about the person bringing a get on a ship and the rabbi did not respond to my last response. I appreciate the response.

A. I didn't understand the answer. Is this a true or false quote?
B. https://mikyab.net/%D7%A9%D7%95%D7%AA/%d7%94%d7%9e%d7%91%d7%99%d7%90-%d7%92%d7%98-%d7%91%d7%a1%d7%a4%d7%99%d7%a0%d7%94/
Search here and you'll see. I have no idea and I'm not interested. Why is it even interesting? I'll add more than that, just to clarify: Even if I don't have another interpretation of the Rambam, I won't back down from my clear position. That already makes the discussion completely unnecessary.
Perhaps he can relate what you brought from the Gemara and Ritva to the matter before going into detail about his view that one should let others know?
Someone believes that there is no foreskin in bananas and therefore did not check whether there is a banana in his fruit salad and wants to serve it to a guest who is known to believe that there is a foreskin in bananas. Perhaps the host should check whether there is a banana in the salad and draw the guest's attention to this fact, and also, if necessary, disclose to the guest that the rabbi that that guest follows prohibits bananas.
So I'm supposed to do a self-status check for him so he can safely lower me into the pit and not fail to save me? 🙂
You wrote: Even if I don't have a different interpretation in the Rambam, I will not retreat from my clear position. Are you speaking only in this context or in general, will you not retreat from your clear positions even if you prove otherwise?
at all
Even if they convince you? Or do you claim that your positions are so firmly established that you cannot be moved from them? And when you come to a discussion or confrontation, do you perhaps expect to be convinced only by your unclear positions? And to present your clear/unclear positions to the other person so that he can choose whether to be convinced!?
What is the point of these questions? Obviously, if good arguments are presented, I should accept them. What I said is that I am not impressed by human authority. That's all.
