Rabbi Shagar and his ways in serving God

שו”תCategory: philosophyRabbi Shagar and his ways in serving God

Hello Rabbi
What do you think about Rabbi Shagar’s worldview?
What is more correct to do, receive guidance in a specific service of God from a particular rabbi and follow it only after that to check whether it is correct, or build a view from scratch by studying from all sorts of places and rabbis with different opinions and build a spiritual world on your own?
How far should I go when examining my worldview? That is, should I examine Christianity to see if Judaism is right? Or should I examine only within the realm of Judaism whether I am on the right path for myself in serving God?
Thank you very much.

You can see my review of his book Broken Tools in my article , as well as a lecture on YouTube on the occasion of the release of his book Tablets and Tablet Fragments. More accurately, what you think. If you find someone whose guidance is useful to you, then go and learn from them. And if not, then you should search for yourself. In the end, it is clear that you build your own world, and the question is only who to help. This is not an important question and there is no universal answer to it. You need to look into everything you think is a possible option. I have nothing to tell you about that.
