Right and left, religious and secular

Hello,
Is there a reason in your opinion that most people on the left are secular and people on the right are religious or traditional? I find it hard to believe that this is a coincidence? I’m not talking about society in general, but about the Jews living in the country. And is there an article that you have addressed the subject in detail?
