I once heard that the Sages said that a person who had to put his hand in his pocket twice to take out a coin was considered to be torment. And if torment was decreed for him in this world, or for the purpose of atoning for sins, it was considered to be torment. Do you agree with that?

I have no idea. I can only assume they had no idea either. Maybe they intended to teach some lesson, but if it’s a factual claim I don’t know who could know that.
