Several questions

שו”תCategory: generalSeveral questions
asked 6 months ago

1. Do you think the world requires external intervention? I mean, is it possible to identify the singular point as its own cause or does it require a non-material creator?
2. According to Parmenides, that which is is and that which is not is not. From this it necessarily follows that matter has always existed because it exists and it is impossible for nothing not to exist. R.L. – does not exist because it does not exist and that which cannot come from nothing. What do you think? (This connects to Spinoza’s view that God is the universe)
3.How do you reconcile the unimaginable evil in the world with a morally perfect God. thanks!

Hello. You asked questions, some of which I didn’t understand, and others that required a great deal of time. 1. I’m not sure I understood the question. You’re asking whether the world needs a creator or can it be its own cause? I think so, definitely. This is the cosmological and physico-theological argument that I expanded on in my first published book. What is the nature of that creator? That is another question, but apparently not material (because matter is not its own cause). 2. I have never understood these statements. They seem to me to be just a play on words. You may ask, is it possible to create from nothing? I don’t think so. It has nothing to do with the nonsense of Parmenides and Spinoza, etc. 3. See column 547 on my website.
