Sharing challah for the poor

שו”תCategory: HalachaSharing challah for the poor
asked 4 years ago

Someone told me that at his parents’ house, they spread challah, bake the challah in the oven, and give it to poor neighbors.
This is a traditional family.
First, should we intervene and raise awareness?
Second, is it considered that the person who broke the bread ate modified dough and fed challah to the poor (if we do not count the swallowing in the oven of the challah as part of the other challahs), or did he and the poor eat tevel?
I thought that if a person gives challah to a poor person, it is a sign that he does not understand what challah is, and even if he recites it with a blessing and in the Kabbalist style, the recital is not valid and everything is immersed. What do you think?

I’m not sure I understand. They baked the secreted challah in the oven and gave it to the poor? If so, I think he himself did not eat tevel. He interpreted what the halacha says, but he himself did not know what the halacha says. The poor man, of course, ate challah. But what you wrote is not unfounded. Interesting question. To Dina, it seems so to me.
