Starting the Shabbat clock by a child

שו”תCategory: HalachaStarting the Shabbat clock by a child
asked 1 year ago

Hello Rabbi,

Is it permissible, if one forgets to set the Shabbat clock on the stove for the morning meal, to let the child move the knobs so that it turns on at a time when it was not previously set to turn on? The child’s action will not immediately turn on the stove, but rather later.
Is it permissible to grow up and do this with change?

If the little one did this, is it permissible to turn on the stove so that it will use as much fuel as I want?

What is forbidden to an adult is also forbidden to say to a child. Saying it to a stranger is the only way that is permitted here.

It's just a gramma and it's permissible
But it won't light up immediately but after a few minutes’
I do it every Shabbat and with my right hand.
And so I keep the pleasure of Shabbat in great style.
