Stasi police?

It was reported that 3 Israeli women entered the synagogue, which was open, handed out flyers about the kidnappers, and left.
This is a synagogue where a millionaire in power prays.
The police chased them and detained them for several hours as if it were some crime against the government, while many pro-government watches and flyers were distributed in synagogues without hindrance.

So it is not the sanctity of the house of prayer in the eyes of the government, but rather it is seen as persecution and silencing of those who think differently from the government.

Some claim it is more reminiscent of the Stasi than the Israel Police.
Is the situation really getting worse?
