State Sanhedrin Exile and Redemption
On the occasion of the upcoming Independence Day, from your perspective, is it appropriate to say that today we are in a period of national redemption and religious exile?
National redemption because we are a people with an army, independence, a democratic state of the Jewish people, a prosperous economy, etc.
In religious exile (or lack of religious freedom), in terms of there being no Sanhedrin and there being fundamentalist apostasy.
That is, there is a view here of nationality, a view of religion, but a connection between the years.
Of course, one could say, “There you go.” According to your definitions, this is indeed the case. But these are semantic definitions that I don’t see much meaning in. The more relevant questions are what our attitude towards the processes should be, not what they are called.
