Many Jews traveled to Uman and are now stranded
Is it a mitzvah to help them or should I avoid their connection, etc.? This is a concern for the Jews and we should be careful only to help them and not to work for them.
Or is it also problematic to help them because they will say that you saved their work?

Don’t get carried away. This is not a crime, it’s just plain stupidity. It’s definitely worth helping if possible.
