The beginning of the world

שו”תCategory: philosophyThe beginning of the world

Hello Rabbi
A question occurred to me about those who believe that the world is ancient (either in the ancient version or in the ‘current’ version that believes that matter has always existed, it just expanded and changed, etc.):
Is there a logical problem with this, since if the world had existed forever, then it was actually an infinite number of years ago, and then it turns out that I am the end of infinity, which doesn’t make sense.
(Apparently it’s like Zeno’s paradox, but I thought there was a difference that when you define a domain within it there is infinity, but here there is no domain because there is no beginning)
I would be happy to explain whether you think I am right or wrong.
Thank you very much.

You are wrong. This argument has already been raised in Debts of the Hearts and many others, and here on the site I also explained that it is a lack of mathematical understanding.
