The Corona “epidemic” – a kind of recurring question…
First of all – congratulations on your daughter’s marriage, etc.
Regarding the Corona virus
Let’s leave aside for a moment discussions about the personalities of the opposing and supporting doctors, Italy, China, the USA, Bibi, right and left….
Intuitively – I assume that an accepted definition of an epidemic in the vernacular is an event of abnormal mortality, beyond the normal or average.
The State of Israel, through the body responsible for statistics (CBS), announces that this year from January to July, no more people died compared to the corresponding period in recent years.
So there is no epidemic in the country
Also – our eyes see that the more we examine, the more “sick” we find.
We see that a large portion of the patients are not sick at all, but suffer from mild symptoms, and sometimes not even that (I personally know about 10 patients as described).
We hear doctors from the system openly admitting that the method is to count those who died of other causes who tested positive for coronavirus as those who died of coronavirus.
I ask in amazement and truly out of a desire to understand – does the Rabbi have no further thoughts on the concept of the pandemic??
Alex, have you returned to us? It is clear that the one who comes in the name of God.
There is an epidemic. These statistics mean nothing. I’ll tell you more than that: The reported number of deaths is also probably higher than the real number (as you wrote), and yet there is an epidemic. The reason for the decrease in overall mortality is the measures being taken against the coronavirus (movement restrictions, masks, etc.).
So no, I have no further thoughts. I get the impression that you don’t either. So we’re tied. 🙂
Unable to deal with the unfounded assertion “there is a pandemic” 🙂
Happy New Year
On the 26th of Elul 5772
For the record, what is happening now is that there is an increase in morbidity in the Arab sector, some of whose cities and villages are 'red'. In order not to impose a lockdown only on the Arabs, through manipulation (the addition of yeshiva students studying outside the city who were tested en masse at the beginning of the time) ultra-Orthodox cities were also turned into 'red'.
Another indication of the increase in morbidity specifically in the north is the pressure on the corona wards specifically in the northern region, which requires transferring corona patients to the central region. According to Prof. Jonathan Halevi, Director General of Shaare Zedek, the occupancy of the Corona wards in the country is not full (70-80%) and the talk of an imminent collapse of the health system is not true
In short: All of Israel is Arab for Arabs 🙂
With greetings, Shams Razel, Qubat a-Najma
And I can't deal with the unsubstantiated assertion that there is none.
Happy New Year to Mr.
Good week and happy new year
I actually justified the statement-
Fact- There is no excess mortality in 2020 compared to previous years (official data)
Conclusion – There is no pandemic
This is really the simple position..
