The disciples of Hachmaam often say hello. Is this a joke? Or what?
I see many Jews around me who hope for the best. Who hope for an end to the dispute among the people, hoping if not for free love at least for a reduction in free hatred [because of which, according to the interpretation of Chazal, we were exiled from our country for 2000 years..] And some of these Jews are not really from the first rank of the scholars of the generation.
In contrast, many see it as a wish that they are scholars of Torah who, according to the words of Chazal, are increasing peace in the world, spreading evil, discord, and great hatred among the people, radicalizing and attacking a prime minister who observes Shabbat, and this is precisely in the case of Korach… and it will not be like Korach and his followers.
It is strange that someone who is more religiously tolerant is supposed to increase peace in the world, is supposed to be as full of fear as ice and his own people, is supposed to seek peace and even pursue it. And in fact, in the field, it seems that this is actually more the lot of those who have fewer Torah scholars…
Something strange… an upside down world? Top down and bottom up?
I would be happy if the Rabbi had a reasonable answer…
A Baal Teshuvah once asked me why rabbis always fight each other. I told him that they have more values that are meaningful to them, which is why they fight.
This does not mean that wars are just and that they are conducted correctly and appropriately, but regardless of the justifications, there is a logical explanation for this phenomenon, and that is what you asked for. To the Torah scholars, public values and interests are important, both because the Torah and its values are important to them and because they are the leaders of the public. That is why they fight harder and in more wars than others.
And what scholars of Torah say about increasing peace in the world is like Yasser Arafat being the world champion in peace agreements. He violated every agreement and therefore signed another one, and thus was responsible for the most peace agreements. He increased peace in the world.
Scholars of Torah multiply peace in the world, and there is no increase after increase except for a few.
