The end of humanity?

Yuval Noah Harari claims that AI will become the dominant ruler of nature in a few years. He claims that humans’ role as absolute rulers is over. He largely bases this on the fact that AI can generate new ideas, learn things easily, and has all the functions of a human at a much higher level, except for consciousness.
In general, does this sound logical to you? Because on the surface, the facts he describes are correct, and in my opinion the whole question is whether the human mind makes all the difference and makes the human the absolute ruler or are the human functions sufficient, and if the functions exist then will AI defeat humanity?
