The end of the world in 221 years

Peace and blessings.
Many members of the religious community – the ultra-Orthodox – believe that “Sit Alfi Shanin Hoi Alma” (Sanhedrin 33), etc., meaning that this world can exist for a maximum of 6,000 years, and at the end of it the Messiah must appear, a temple of fire will descend from heaven, etc., etc. According to the calculation, this is a date that will occur in about 221 years – not much.
As someone who does not believe in such supernatural changes, but rather believes that “the world goes on as usual,” I am quite curious and concerned about what will happen to the religious Jewish public: Will its general faith be shaken? Will this also shatter other conventions? Will this cause a crisis?
Is it worth trying to change the approach in advance?
What do you think?

This is a Midrash Agada and I don’t think it should be understood literally. In any case, I’m not worried. The gates of interpretation have not been closed, and quite a few messianic prophecies have already come true and nothing has happened. Crises happen when there is a problematic background even without this belief. There were crisis situations when the public was in dire straits and they were comforted by a prediction of the coming of the Messiah in the coming days, and then it came true (for example, this was the case in Jerusalem at the beginning of the twentieth century. I think Shulamit Lapid wrote about this in her book ‘Like a Broken Pottery’). It is worth changing the approach because it is appropriate to treat legends correctly and not necessarily because of such concerns.
