Hello Rabbi
Our Rabbis will instruct us on the law of a person who does not want to go to the fire department when there is an alarm. There is a law regarding the negligence of the one who loses his life. If, God forbid, such a person is hit by a missile and killed, does he have a sin for risking his own life?
 
It seems to me that the full severity of the law of suicide, which says that there is no afterlife, cannot be applied to such a person, because he did not commit suicide intentionally, but rather trusted that the missile would almost certainly not hit his apartment. The question is whether there is at least a sin in deciding that he prefers to trust the statistics even though there is a personal risk here if the missile hits.
 
I will also add questions to the discussion: Will there be a difference between a protected space located in a stairwell that requires little hassle and other cases?
The question is practical, I will point out.

I saw the answer, but follow-up question: Let's say I'm at home, no one sees me, and there's no fear of affecting anyone. Do you claim that if I don't listen to the categorical order, I'm guilty of a crime?

So I find it hard to see any justification for enforcing a categorical order that does not affect others. Some source of authority is needed to bind me to such a categorical order.

Indeed, it is necessary. The source of authority is God. He is the one who obligates us to act in a moral way, and that means obeying the categorical imperative. The bottom line is that it also has a consequential effect, of course, see column 122 and the answer I mentioned above.

What source of authority forces you to be moral?

It is a tool for moral judgment or decision. You don't have to agree with it, but many people think it is very intuitive. In many cultures, things have been said like, “What is hateful to you, do to your neighbor” (very similar to the categorical imperative)

Here it is not entirely moral, but the principle still applies and is still intuitive, you go to the mall for the same reason that someone goes to vote in an election or goes to a protest. Your vote doesn't matter, but the categorical imperative tells you to go.

I didn't see Miki's response. I'll clarify that his words don't contradict mine. He's talking about how, in general, a connection needs a source, something that needs it, and that's God.

I ignored this (even though I agree) because people usually agree that one should act morally even without admitting that there must be a validating factor.
