The implications of artificial intelligence for our future

peace.
I am a computer science student who finds himself using artificial intelligence applications.
Although it’s not perfect yet, artificial intelligence applications still manage to excel at the goals of writing certain codes and the like. There’s also a free application called NotebookLM from Google that you can put PDF documents and even YouTube videos that support subtitles into, ask it questions based on the material in the documents or videos, and ask it to prepare an audio file of two characters having a conversation about the topic. Really amazing.
I wondered, in light of the development of the artificial physical character ‘ Optimus ‘, whether it is possible that in the coming years these applications will succeed in replacing fields such as gardeners, etc. Will there continue to be a livelihood for people engaged in these professions?
It is impossible to ignore the fact that artificial intelligence can streamline many areas of life, but at what cost? If in medicine it helps or may help save lives, what kind of life will the person whose life was saved have if he has no source of income and lives in hunger?
And just one more point regarding the motivation of those who contributed greatly to the development of this and are now opposing its development. Why did they succumb to curiosity in the first place and contribute to this thing? Maybe they didn’t know it would develop to these areas?
I don’t expect you to answer the questions asked so far – they are intended to contribute to conveying the message.
The question is, do you think artificial intelligence really threatens our future?

I have written here more than once about people’s technophobia. Although it seems like there could be a threat here, the threat is usually posed by the people who use technology and not by the technology itself. As for livelihood, this has indeed been addressed. See, for example, the lecture by Daniel Schreiber (my brother-in-law): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gqtckj0Ohc

Regarding the sentence “Usually”The threat is posed by the humans who use the technology and not by the technology itself” –
The problem here is that these systems are given “decision-making ability” like humans.
It has already happened that such a system recommended a child to kill his parents, and what will happen when this system is embedded in a robot that is also capable of doing so, and then shares its success with its robot friends (this is not delusional)

I think this will only happen if humans allow or want it.
