The Jews are coming
Hello Rabbi,
In the last column, you gave one of the examples of Jews coming.
I would appreciate clarification, does the rabbi think it is irrelevant to be offended/annoyed by such a program? Is the problem not in what I feel but in how I respond to it (i.e., to address it matter-of-factly and not be offended and call for the program to be denounced)?
Thank you very much!
To hurt or not to hurt is an instinctive question. There is no value in being hurt. If you are not hurt, you do not have to work on yourself to be hurt. There is no flaw in you.
Don’t want to, don’t watch the show (I personally tried a little and didn’t enjoy it). Satire is meant to sting, and it’s worth noting that there are some.
The above program contemptuously disparages the holy places of Israel. It quotes passages from the Bible and ridicules them in the most disgusting way.
This would be called satire and sarcasm???????????????????
What do you think?

I agree with most of the things, and I have already written briefly in a similar vein here. Two points:
1. I am not sure that the ability to watch without being shocked is a flaw in religious faith. It depends on the importance of religious sentiment (which in my opinion is not great).
2. As for mockery, the writer opposes mocking Christianity and Islam, even though there too it is mockery. Furthermore, if he supports mockery, which according to him means mocking for an educational and moral purpose, I do not see why he reserves this right only for religious people (to mock עד). The creators of the program mock concepts that in their eyes are stupid and harmful. From their point of view, this is also mockery. It is easy and convenient to present them as evil people whose only goal is to mock and humiliate, but I do not understand what this is based on.
Forgiveness. Forgiveness.
I quote from your response “The creators of the program mock perceptions that they see as stupid and harmful”.
I wish it were just that. I wish!
The above sentence perhaps suits Andrados with fine humor and myself.
When Jews come, as I wrote in the past, they make fun of passages from the Bible. They ridicule them, add rude words to them, mock the holy. And all this with our money.
Season after season, things get worse and worse.
And they increased the pronunciation of the name in one of the recent programs.
What does it mean, what is it based on? You should watch the program and get a bad impression!
(And even from the secular side, I would expect some word about mocking the Holocaust. Not humor or satire. How can you laugh at the Holocaust? And with our money???)
Rabbi, maybe you could dedicate a column to this?
A minor column here:
