The level of politicians

I follow our best politicians on Twitter. Right now the spotlight is naturally more on the left, but I’m not sure it’s only relevant to them.
Regardless of political stance, the impression is very clear that the vast majority of them (there are a few exceptions) are really, really unintelligent people, and I try to express myself gently.
Unfounded arguments, ridiculous inferences, incoherent responses. I intentionally don’t provide examples so as not to get into a critical and political discussion about every issue, but you can follow them and see it easily.
Do you think my impression is wrong? Or is there really such a thing?
If he is not mistaken, why do such types end up there, and is there a possibility and need to change this?

I don’t think they’re particularly stupid. There are more and less of them, like in any group. The important point to note is that almost anyone who publishes a lot of musings in the public domain and has a lot of followers will be caught in nonsense. What’s more, politicians are prone to demagogy for professional reasons (they’re not teachers or lecturers, they need political results).

Not that I understand why they follow them…

It should be noted that the Knesset is supposed to represent the people, and the people are made up of both wise and foolish people. But it is natural that in a democracy the Knesset will be made up of the entire spectrum.
I say this half-humorously of course, but there is a point of truth here in my opinion.
