The limitations of the SIS – counting in 2 sketches
Hey Miki
Yesterday, in the “Transparent Domes” WhatsApp group, I read a story about Zohar Rahav, who is the father of one of the group’s members, and a secular man in essence, who dreamed that a Lubavitcher Rabbi brought him tefillin. This dream greatly stressed him emotionally. After a few months, as a family, Zohar went to synagogue on Shabbat [he usually avoided doing so] and a Jew came up to him and told him that he was buying him tefillin. And then I got excited.
Today I decided I had to share this with you.
As I was opening the computer, I came across a story that I had heard before. The mother of Dvir Emanueloff, who was killed by cast lead, told how, completely by chance, she met a baby who was born after cast lead and who was named after him.
I don’t want to go into the details of this incredible meeting.
And again I am moved to tears, and I return to write to you, and this time I ask you: Most people who believe in God, [and it doesn’t matter what their religion is] will embrace these two stories to their hearts. But “as is my way in the Holy” I feel the need to disable some of the joys…
If the people involved in these stories do believe in God, then according to my worldview they should have asked: What – is that all God is capable of doing?!
This is why I concluded that the speed of God’s action is contingent on the complexity and mass of the action required on His part.
Making a person dream or bringing together people who are in a limited geographical space is much more practical than preventing a war or a massacre. In this regard, I would like to add that it is very possible that God is able to decide battles by causing a senior commander in the sector where a decisive battle is being fought to make a wrong decision.
Here I return to my story from last week about the only partial validity of the laws of physics, due to them being relevant to only 95% of the universe, most of which is dark matter.
Then in the space of 95% of the universe there is room for an abundance of beliefs. And there is no room to say that no authority concerns its society.
So have a happy holiday, and may there be no more casualties for the people of Israel in general.
All the best
Happy Holidays to you too. By the way, as far as I know, our laws of nature also apply within dark matter.
You wrote: As far as I know, our laws of nature also apply within dark matter. The question is, do you know this, or are you assuming? Because as far as I know, as of today there is no way to measure dark matter.
Perhaps I was too hesitant to adopt the words of the Netanya guy who drove me to the Netanya interchange. But I think that if this idea is not fundamentally unfounded, then it deserves in-depth consideration.
All the best
There is an explanation for dark matter within the framework of our laws of nature, and there is no reason to assume that the laws there are different. Just as we would not assume that the laws on the moon or elsewhere in the universe are different.
Do we need a special reason to think that the laws of nature are different in at least some of the dark matter?
Is there a reason that we can understand that some of the laws of nature repeat an identical structure in which one of the factors is squared. Of course we remember at least 2 equations of laws in which one of the factors is divided by 2 before it is multiplied by the square of the other factor. Maybe some of the dark matter behaves differently?
I allow myself to compare the development of quantum theory, which even Einstein found difficult to digest, to the claim that perhaps due to the wide distribution of dark matter relative to normal matter, we must be careful and be prepared for surprises.
I will give you 2 examples of surprises from the natural sciences: Prof. Nir Shaviv, who grew up in a home of scientists who study nature, has been claiming for several years that global warming is not man-made. Rather, it is a cyclical galactic phenomenon. Air pollution should be prevented for health reasons that are not related to the greenhouse effect.
Prof. Shaviv the “Naughty” simply is not satisfied with the data relevant to the greenhouse effect, he expanded his searches related to the history of the Earth, and found geological evidence of global warming, but these occurred hundreds of millions of years before the appearance of the human species. Of course, most scientists disagree with him, but as far as I understand, they have nothing to hold on to.
And one more thing: About a month ago, it was announced that thanks to the development of an innovative microscopic examination method, it is possible to examine skin tissues without distorting them, and they found that under our skin [which is the largest organ in our body] there is tissue for transporting fluids in our body, which has not been identified until now, and which apparently constitutes an organ in itself.
This discovery seems puzzling at first glance - dermatologists knew very well how to explain the role of the skin. But the thing is that they did not take into account that what they see is nothing but a distortion of the real thing!
In conclusion - I hope that the examples and arguments I have raised are relevant to the subject of our dispute.
All that remains for me is to wish you all the best and a happy Shabbat Shalom
عبدالله.
I am willing to accept any data, but it does not seem reasonable to me to claim that the laws of nature in dark matter are different when there is no data on this. The default is that these are the same laws until proven otherwise.
Shabbat Shalom
