The meaning of life
Hello Rabbi. I was recently exposed to your content, in an attempt to find an answer to the question of the meaning of life.
I didn’t find a place where you talk about it (I may have missed it), so I’d be happy if you would address it here. What is the meaning of life in your opinion? It’s hard to think that life was created randomly without purpose. If there really isn’t, why do good just because I’m here? (Of course I know you think there is a purpose, it just raises a question that seems obvious to me to those who think there isn’t.) I’d love to hear your opinion.
I didn’t understand the question. If there is no God, nothing has meaning, and neither does life. See my column “What is meaning?”
I understand. If there is a God, what is the meaning of life?
An undefined question. Our purpose in life is apparently to worship Him and keep His commandments. But there is room to disagree with that, and to say that our purpose is to live, and the commandments are just the right way to live.
I don't know how to answer such a question, and as mentioned, it is also undefined. But it is clear that without God there is no meaning, not because it is impossible to find meaning but because the concept of meaning is emptied of its content. See the above columns.
I didn't find it. Can you provide a link to the column?
Thanks
Just search for “what does it mean”. This is the first result: https://www.google.com/url?client=internal-element-cse&cx=f18e4f052adde49eb&q=https://mikyab.net/posts/8462/&sa=U&ved=2ahUKEwiHoNPQ29aIAxXoAfsDHQyZAvIQFnoECAAQAg&usg=AOvVaw0CJdYcpoOSWwY32uAJ_IDJ
