What messages for the generations did the Sages want to instill in us through the story of the Scroll and the mitzvahs of the holiday?
And if you don’t know what the Sages wanted, do you find meaning in the Megillah and the rest of the mitzvot of the day?

I don’t know. Of course, sending meals to each other and gifts to the poor makes a lot of sense.

Sending gifts also appears in Nehemiah (8:10): And he said to them, Go your way, eat the fat and drink the sweet, and send gifts to him who is not prepared, for this day is holy to our Lord, and do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.
(In connection with Rosh Hashanah, that they should not fast) And what they said on Purim, they said only to indicate that it was a holiday.
